die for 与die of的区别是释义不同、用法不同、应用场合不同。
1、释义不同：die of 死于疾病、饥饿；die for为某种目的而献身、牺牲。例句：（1）When we die for the people; it is a worthy death. 我们为人民而死，就是死得其所。（2）I may as well be broiled as die of hunger. 即使不把我烤了，我也就要饿死了。
